When you are under yoga teacher training, then nobody is there to care about what you look like. There you will not go to have makeup or making your hairs as you’ll be covered in sweat. There no one will notice your body shape or think how you look in yoga suit because they all are busy in their practice. So, go ahead with any body shape you have – no one is judging you.

We all know that there are a lot of who have yoga teacher certification. Therefore, they will hire them rather than those who don’t have certification. It never harms to have more knowledge under your belt in the modern yoga world.

Should I get a travel visa?

The possibility of travel visa depends upon different conditions. If you are travelling to Koh Phangan, Thailand for the training of 23-day and then returning, then it should be fine. If you are a U.S. citizen, then you can have up to 90-days visa. However, later than 30 days, you have to renew it. This isn’t a difficulty if you’re travelling in the day earlier than the 200-hour training in Thailand as well as flying out right away after.

What food will I be eating?

During your training, you will get the food, which is reasonable as compared to your home country. Don’t misjudge how much you will have while you are there. You will practice tons of yoga there and will be sweating like crazy, so you’ll need loads of food to keep you alive. You will get traditional and healthy food so that you can practice while being fit.

Do I need vaccination before going to learn for it in other countries?

The CBC and WHO organisations suggested that international visitors get the following vaccinations earlier than travelling to India:

  • Typhoid
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Malaria
  • Cholera
  • Rabies
  • Japanese encephalitis vaccine
  • Measles
  • Yellow fever
  • Routine immunisations

It is suggested to consult your physician first.

Should I take a blanket and towels?

Yes, you should carry at least a pair of the towel with you so that you can easily take a shower and enjoy your beach visit. It will also let you use one with another in exchange. For blanket you can carry a travel-sized blanket as there you will only get a pillow along with a fitted sheet.

What type of yoga mat should I carry?

The mat choice is a little bit tricky. All of us have a mat which is our favourite, and we choose for rest. When you are under yoga teacher training here, you will have to practice more yoga than you usually do in your daily routine. If you have an exclusive mat, then it might be able to survive during your practice. However, if you are carrying a super cheap mat, then possibly it will PEEL all over the place. It is all about your choice of how thick your yoga mat is going to be. If you are carrying a thin mat, then it will be easy to pack, but it will feel harder on your head and knees when you’re practising headstands, etc.

So, you are all ready for your yoga teacher training — all the best for a bright future ahead.
